The Senior Vice President, Program Development is to lead business and program development efforts for the programs, products and services offered by the organization. This position serves as a member of NCCHC's senior leadership team, reporting to and working with the Chief Executive Officer with the goal of producing targeted revenue outcomes for new business and program development.
The Senior Vice President, Program Development will assist in the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan. This position will bring innovative approaches to revenue growth and enhancement, will strengthen relationships with Federal, State, and local agencies and associations including NCCHC's supporting organizations, and will identify new funding donors to include foundations, corporations, and individuals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, staff, and key constituents to develop and execute a comprehensive business development program based on organizational needs and identify and generate revenue for the association.
Implement and oversee the identification, prioritization, solicitation and stewardship of potential organizational customers- particularly those interested in standards related training, certification activity, accreditation services and technical assistance.
Expand the Commission's strategic relationships in collaboration with Board members and key constituents.
Partner with the Chief Executive Officer on reporting including designing and compiling reports, ad hoc presentations, briefings, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide assistance in overseeing grant-related communications, publicity, promotion and public information activities, including serving as a writer and editor of grant proposals, presentations, reports, and budgets for funding projects, fundraising letters and appeals, and other written material and correspondence in support of fundraising and development initiatives.
Set up meetings as required for Commission executives to meet with grant-making officials.
Provide leadership, inspiration, and mentoring to staff for integrated support of NCCHC's business development efforts.

A comprehensive understanding of the ever growing challenges correctional executives face in addressing the health care needs of the nation's jails, prisons, and juvenile detention facilities.
Broad functional experience in areas of sales and solicitation, strategic planning, marketing, promotions, and events.
A strong work ethic and a results/solutions-driven, positive attitude.
Record of personally identifying, cultivating and soliciting major corporate, private, and/or individual donors and proven success in securing gifts/grants.
Excellent development-related technical writing and marketing skills, with direct experience in the production of high-quality marketing materials.
Direct knowledge of funding resources and grant opportunities.
Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and create appropriate frameworks and models.
Persuasive communication style, with well-honed relationship-building acumen.
Knowledge of the local and national philanthropic and nonprofit arena.

10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in business and program development or a related field.
Advanced degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
