This program works closely with the Health Care Authority as well as DSHS Forensic Navigators and other community providers in an effort to support individuals in a community setting. The OCRP Therapist 1 promotes the Mission of GLMH with a style that reflects the culture, the values and the mission of the organization. Job Scope: Subject Matter Expert Therapist work semi-independently managing a caseload of clients in a highly competent and professional manner. Work involves a significant variety of non-routine tasks of moderate complexity which are guided by formal policies and general procedures. While this position has limited direct budgetary accountability, errors in work can have significant impact on customer service, clinical outcomes, and liability implications. Education and/or Experience: B.A. degree in a mental health related field plus two years of experience in working with the severely and persistently mentally ill population, or an M.A. degree in a mental health related field (preferred). Must be eligible for a Washington State Department of Health Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration or other licensed mental health credential. Other combinations of education and experience that provide the required familiarity and skills may be considered. Job Conditions: Must be able to drive a car; possess a good driving record; provide proof of auto insurance; be able to work both in and out of the office and go into clients' residences, which may require climbing stairs and walking on uneven terrain. Must be able to speak and hear at normal conversational levels. Must be able to pass the background check in order to be able to see clients in the Pierce County Jail.
